Transcedental Meditation

Transcedental Meditation (TM) is a simple, natural technique that aims to promote relaxation, stress reduction, and self-development by allowing the mind to transcend ordinary thought processes. It's often practiced for 20 minutes twice a day while sitting comfortably with eyes closed.
What does Transcedental Meditation involve / steps?
- Find a Quiet Space: Choose a quiet place where you won't be disturbed during your meditation session.
- Sit Comfortably: Sit in a comfortable chair with your feet on the ground and hands resting on your lap. Keep your back straight but relaxed.
- Close Your Eyes: Gently close your eyes and take a few moments to settle down.
- Repeat a Mantra: Silently repeat a specific mantra. This mantra is usually a meaningless sound taught by a certified TM instructor and personalized for each individual. The mantra helps focus the mind and allows it to transcend conscious thought.
- Allow Thoughts to Flow: Don't try to control your thoughts or concentrate. If your mind wanders, gently return to repeating the mantra. The idea is to let the mind settle into a state of restful alertness.
- End the Session Gradually: After about 20 minutes, stop repeating the mantra and sit quietly with your eyes closed for a minute or two before gradually opening your eyes.
